Lou Milrad is an experienced and well-known Toronto-based Business and IT Lawyer. He is the creator and editor of “Computers and Information Technology”, a 4 volume series on IT legal precedent licenses, privacy and security provisions, mobile and device management, procurement and cloud computing, services and supply, and database contracts. The series, published through the Carswell division of Thomson Reuters, is going into its 17th release. Lou is a regular contributor on IT and the Law matters to a number of publications that include IT World, Canadian CIO, and Municipal World.

Lou recently completed his role as Associate Counsel to a national law firm and in parallel served two terms as Chair (including three and half years as CEO) to the Greater Toronto Marketing Alliance. Lou continues his law practice under Milrad Law while continuing to focus on IT companies, municipalities, hospitals, and colleges, in addition to a variety of professional and trade associations.

With early recognition by LEXPERT as a leader in Computer and IT Law, and by Canadian Lawyer Magazine as one of Canada’s five leading Information Technology Law practitioners, Lou has been consistently listed in Canadian Who's Who, and in Who's Who of Professionals. A staunch advocate for life-long learning and leadership, Lou was honoured as a “Local Hero” by ORT for his leadership in educational initiatives including being a visiting lecturer in IT/IP law at the Banff Centre for Management, University of Waterloo and Seneca College. Lou has also established and taught a graduate level course at Ryerson University.
