Lecturer: Roger Girard, Former CIO, Manitoba eHealth

This 2-session series will focus on the development of eHealth strategies and the implementation of electronic health records. The series will begin with a short overview of health records and Canada’s approach to implementing a pan-Canadian electronic health record. It will then focus on eHealth strategic planning: how planning works, planning models, key components of an eHealth strategy, lessons learned and best examples of eHealth–integrated healthcare systems in Canada. The sessions will be given by one of Canada’s leading eHealth experts, Roger Girard. Roger, who has had a long career as a Canadian eHealth CIO, will give both the theory and a practical perspective on eHealth strategic planning.
