In this segment of H4IT we discuss what physicians, nurses and other healthcare providers do. We delve into the nature of diagnosis and the approaches to the treatment of common disorders. Our presentations are built on easy-to-understand cases that introduce key medical vocabulary and ways of thinking. We include the kinds of support that systems can provide to the care of patients. Understanding what care providers do is central to being able to provide assistance using information and communications technologies. This is ‘must have’ knowledge for anyone wishing to work in eHealth and have positive impacts on health care.
