This is a special workshop on CIHR Grant Writing with some helpful tips on what makes a fundable proposal from our guest speakers who are CIHR reviewers and successful CIHR applicants. It will also include information about the machine that is CIHR. The speakers will share their experiences and provide 'best practices'. (Note: With SSHRC is no longer funding health-related research, these applications should now go to CIHR - cihr-irsc.gc.ca).

Workshop Presenters

  • Dr. John Flanagan (Optometry) – a successful CIHR grant holder and CIHR reviewer in the clinical research pillar

  • Dr. Heather MacDougall (History) – a CIHR reviewer and Scientific Officer on a CIHR humanities review committee

  • Dr. Paul Stolee (Health Studies & Gerontology) – a successful CIHR grant holder in health services and policy with experience with CIHR team grants

  • Ms. Leslie Copp (Office of Research) – Grants Manager for CIHR and a community reviewer on 3 different CIHR biomedical review panels
