Data governance (DG) involves the management of data availability, integrity, security, and usability within an organization that is based on specified standards and policies. DG is a critical function in health care where the responsible and ethical handling of patient information and other sensitive data is paramount.

The course will explore industry best practices for establishing a data governance function in a healthcare organization. Learn about effective data governance standards, risk and mitigation strategies, and the impact of AI and machine learning.

After completing the course, you will be awarded a NIHI - McMaster CE micro-credential "Data Governance in Health Care: The Fundamentals". A micro-credential is issued in a digital format, provides details of acquired competencies, and is shareable and transportable.

Registrants will receive detailed instructions about accessing the online session(s) via e-mail 1-2 days prior to each session. Anyone registering within 2 days of the session will receive the message shortly after the registration is received. Due to widespread use of spam blockers, filters, out of office messages, etc., it is your responsibility to contact NIHI if you do not receive login instructions before the start of the session.

It is the responsibility of the registrant to ensure access to WebEx using the VOIP option.

Each registrant must register and participate individually on their computer. The online sessions are to be accessed and viewed only by the person who registered and paid for the online material.

All sessions are recorded and posted to an online portal for access later.
